Workshops For Kids
ΑLLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF: I AM AN ARCHAEOLOGIST.
The experiential Archaeology workshop for children is organized by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in collaboration with the AEI Cyprus Film Festival. The workshop will offer the opportunity to 16 children from 6 to 12 years old who will participate, to travel to the world of archaeology.
The program aims at elementary school students and its purpose is to introduce the students to the science of archaeology.
Students will have the opportunity to come into contact with archaeological science, which through the study of ancient material culture, provides access to the primary sources needed to build knowledge of the past. Specifically, through an interactive Powerpoint presentation, they will get to know the basic principles of archaeology, as a science, as well as the basic tasks of the archaeologist.
ASTRONOMY FOR CHILDREN
Starry Sky: a library full of myths, history, and scientific knowledge! This workshop serves as an introduction to Astronomy and Uranography highlighting the significant contribution of the dark sky to the development of human civilisation. The aims are to interactively explore the universe by learning how to read astronomical maps, remembering the basic constellations and strengthening
environmental awareness to fight light pollution.
TROODOS GEOLOGY FOR CHILDREN
The experiential Geology workshop is organized by the Troodos Geopark in collaboration with AEI Cyprus Film Festival. The workshop will offer the opportunity to 20 children from 6 to 16 years old who will participate, to travel through geological time “Walking in the Upper Mantle of the Earth” discovering the natural wealth hidden in the Troodos Geopark and our island.
