He studied film direction in the USA (Univ. of Bridgeport, CT) and worked as a director and producer of current affairs programs in the first private television station of Cyprus: LOGOS. In 1994 he founded TETRAKTYS FILMS, a leading film production company with an emphasis on the production and distribution of documentaries for the international market.
With financial support from the MEDIA program of the European Union, he was trained as a producer and distributor of audiovisual programs at vocational schools such as EAVE and EURODOC. In 2018, he launched the Cyprus Archaeological, Ethnographic and Historical Documentary Festival (AEI Film Festival).
In 2019 he founded, together with Hector and Electra Papageorghiou, the non- profit cultural organisation A.E.I. AUDIOVISUAL FORUM with the aim of developing and disseminating the cultural heritage, culture and history of Cyprus, through a variety of educational and cultural activities, always focusing on the audiovisual medium. Stavros is the artistic director of the Archaeological, Ethnographic and Historical Festival Documentary Cyprus (AEI Film Festival) and responsible coordinator of the educational program CINeDUCATION.
