SYNOPSIS:

The Goethe-Institut Cyprus in collaboration with the AEI Film Festival present the awarded documentary Seven Winters in Tehran on 1st November 2024 at 20:00 at CVAR.

A testament to the unwavering spirit of women in Iran, Seven Winters in Tehran is an important investigative film, simultaneously intimate and political. A man tries to rape 19-year-old Reyhaneh Jabbari and she stabs him in self-defense. She is arrested for murder and sentenced to death. In the years that follow she becomes a symbol of resistance and women’s rights.
