MUM, TURKS ARE COMING! “In Between Two Histories”
SYNOPSIS:
Turkification of Anatolia is often regarded as a movement of conquest and military action. By using knowledge, historical data, and significant surviving material and cultural-historical assets, “Mum, Turks Are Coming!” attempts to recount the basic mind, institutions, and social life formed around these foundations after Turks settled in Anatolia.
ΒΙΟGRAPHY
Kurtuluş Özgen directed-produced several non-fiction films and cultural projects. Özgen received his bachelor’s degree in Cinema, his graduate degree in Painting (2012) and Phd in Art in New Media (2017). He also studied contemporary art history and video art. His academic focus is on documentary film studies, film-philosophy, cinematography, video art and new media. He continues to be an associate professor at AHBV University Fine Arts Faculty, Department of Photography and Video.
