Dead Zone
SYNOPSIS:
The film approaches the everyday life inside the old town of Nicosia, 49 years after the Turkish invasion in 1974. Through the depiction of the impact on the lives of the residents who live amongst ruins along the Green Line, the contrasting aspects of a modern society, which marginalizes its local people since the intercommunal conflict of 1963-64 and the subsequent incursion, are being emphasized.
ΒΙΟGRAPHY
Born in Cyprus in 1996, Ioannis is a graduate of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University. During his studies, he has been involved in the field of Photography
and Cinema. As a student, he has created the short documentary films “Dead Zone” and “Roots”, while participating in the documentary film “L’ Art des Mains”, taking on the role of director of photography, sound mixer and editor.
