Edu AEI Film Festival

On the occasion of the very successful educational action CINeDUCATION and the hosting of children’s films from the educational action “Record the Memories” of the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute, at the AEI Film Festival, it was decided that from 2024 the Festival will be expanded in order to embrace even more the children and youth audience. 

As a result, the Educational Section of the Festival was created under the name: Edu AEI Film Festival which includes short documentary and fiction films created by children and young people from 12 to 20 years old.

The Edu AEI Film Festival includes the following sections:

CINeDUCATION Section

This section is competitive and includes the short documentaries created through our Organization’s eponymous Educational Action, which compete for cash prizes offered by the institutional sponsors.

Neon Cinema Section

The Neon Cinema section is also competitive. It includes selected award-winning films and documentaries from Cypriot and foreign film festivals and they compete for the following prizes:

Best Youth Documentary

Best  Youth  short film

The films are evaluated by a five-member jury composed of children and young people. 

RECORD THE MEMORY Section

This section is non-competitive and includes selections from the educational action of the same name organised by the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute with public primary and secondary schools. 

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FILM FORUM 

During the Edu AEI Film Festival, a filmmaking workshop will be implemented with the participation of children and young people from Cyprus and abroad, aiming at the realization of a 3-minute documentary or fiction film with the help of animators, which will be screened during the closing ceremony of the Festival.
