7th cycle of student film workshops

With the participation of 27 student groups from 25  Secondary Education schools from all over Cyprus, the educational workshops of the CINeDUCATION  programme for the production of short documentaries by students, organised by the non-profit cultural organisation AEI AUDIOVISUAL FORUM, with the Network of UNESCO associated Schools of Cyprus,  will start in mid-November 2023.
The 27 groups from 25  high schools from the districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos, which have registered for the 7th cycle of the Film Workshops, prove the upward trend of the institution, which contributes to the development of Film Education in our country. The CINeDUCATION  programme started in 2018 with just five school participations, increasing year by year the interest, as the quality of the productions by the school groups encouraged more and more schools to participate. As the artistic director of the AEI Film Festival and the general manager of the CINeDUCATION  Action, Stavros Papageorgiou, stated, “the process of producing a short documentary gives students and supervising teachers the opportunity to develop skills in filmmaking, develop their creativity and critical thinking, as well as how to work together as a team. I believe this is also the reason why the participations are increasing every year and I must admit that the student groups gave us derivatives-treasures about the history, archeology and tradition of Cyprus that can also be used as educational tools”.
Every year, the highlight of the CINeDUCATION program is the world premiere screening of these documentaries through the Youth Section of the AEI Festival, the so-called Edu AEI Film Festival.
